My mixed media and videography work has emerged as a response to social and political debates around bodily autonomy, tracking repeated patterns through history and media in which the body of the individual becomes a topic of public concern. Approaching this through a queer lens, I aim to critique how easily a personal life experience can become politicised due to authoritarian responses to non-conformity. In particular, I have focused on current threats of censorship and moral panic surrounding topics of queerness and LGBTQ+ rights in my most recent artwork, using a combination of film, text, and multimedia to explore and bring awareness to
these subjects.
