BA in Art and Psychology

I use acrylic paint on canvas to create flowers inspired by my personal nostalgia of bright childhood summers, creating a space between present and past, using flowers as a symbol for the passage of time. I play with using string to add a tactile element to my work, enhancing the painted flowers whilst depicting the enduring threads of my intimate recollections. I aim to communicate the feeling of being in a happier place to the viewer, intertwining the canvas with the warmth of sunlit afternoons in my childhood garden, further drawing the viewer in to engage with my work emotionally and physically.
